Glenn “Fitzy” Fitzpatrick - Dr. Fitzy Since the gulf war I have suffered post-traumatic stress disorder (P.T.S.D), with ever recurring vivid dreams of the atrocities, to add to this I also get flashbacks of the surgery, a constant reminder the body shock. This is my subconscious trying to process and deal with what is out of the ordinary. Having an BA and MA in fine Art enabled me to process the traumas in life via drawing and research. By sketching the anatomy and adding my own human enhancements, I found it to be therapeutic whilst drawing an anatomical enhanced wish list.
Ashley Fitzgerald - Dr. Fitz I am a contemporary abstract artist born in London, with BA and MA Fine Art. Influenced by own near death and recovery from temporary paralysis led to exploring further a method of wrapping, layering or stripping back of old drawings and artefacts. Connecting body, books, myths, cultural history, creating shrouds and Golem like identities to be released from isolation of the outsider and transforming death into life. This has brought me to recent collaborative working of Open Art Surgery.
Katie Mackenzie - Director I’ve always loved storytelling from a young age. I discovered my passion for filmmaking whilst undertaking a course at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow when I was seventeen. At that moment I knew I wanted to be a filmmaker. I have now graduated from London South Bank University, and am currently working on an independent feature film.
Becky Peet - Camera Operator The art of filmmaking fascinated me throughout secondary school and as I got older I took all the opportunities I could to become a filmmaker. Having just finished my degree in film practice I worked in a kit room for the past 3 months and have recently been doing adventure sports shoots, something I wish to specialise in. Being part of the Open Art Surgery team has been a great experience for me and I look forward to working with the great team again.
Rosie Badder - Editor From a young age I’ve always been a creative. What started as an interest in photography has gradually evolved into passion for filmmaking. Starting a MA course in Post Production this September, the art of editing is one that is a constant inspiration for me and is an area of filmmaking that I hope to progress in. Working on Open Art Surgery has been an incredible experience and it has been a pleasure to work with such an amazing group of artists.
